Blonde hair usually goes good with a pink skin tone and blue or green eyes. Blonde hair colors are not flattering to dark skin or dark eyes. It actually can make you look older and washed out. You may want to try a semi permanent hair color before you commit to a new look. Looking for a color can be tricky. Don’t always trust the color on the box. The color will vary on your hair. Choosing your hair color from actual hair swatches is the most accurate way to pick a color.

Blonde Hair Coloring Tips

After you have decided what shade of blonde you want to be there are a few hair-coloring tips to follow. Never wash your hair the same day you are coloring your hair. Also wash your hair the day before for better results. Your hair should be completely dry before applying any color. Apply moisture around your hair line to prevent hair color from dying your skin on your face or neck.

If you are coloring your own hair, part hair into sections and apply color from the roots to the ends. Follow the packet directions and apply the color evenly. Leave the solution on for the time that the directions say, and then rinse hair out with warm water for 5 minutes. Squeeze out excess water and apply conditioner that comes with the color kit. Do not wash your hair for a few days for best results.

Remember that semi permanent color washes out with each shampoo and it will gradually fade. Touch up your hair color regularly to prevent your roots or gray from showing and to keep your hair color looking even.

You can’t DYE it, but yes you can bleach it. It will probably dry out your hair though, just buy hydrating shampoo or those “Silk Drops”.

How do i remove permanent hair dye from my hair?

Question by Rember: How do i remove permanent hair dye from my hair?
So, I tried to dye it and it didn’t work. My hair is naturally black and i tried to dye it dark brown using blonde hair dye. But, i didn’t leave it in long enough and i have brown hair around my face but the rest is black. It looks stupid. I Just want it to go back. I wonder if shampooing it with shampoo that has sulfate take it out. Only a little bit of my hair is colored so I dont want to buy a black dye just for that.

Question by You’ll Never Take Me Alive!!: Is there a hair dye that lightens your hair as it dyes it another color?
I like to dye a portion of my hair fun colors like purple, blue, pink, red etc… But I have dark brown hair and it’s a pain to bleach it everytime… Does anyone know a hair dye that lightens dark hair while dying it one of the colors I mentioned above? Thanks!

You are missing the point here. Those “fun colours” you call them, are stains. They are not hair dyes (there really is no such thing). They can only work on bleached hair. The hair needs to have all colour removed for them to show best, and the hair needs to be “opened up” by the bleach so that the stain can get into the hair and last longer. You CAN put them on dark hair, but the dark will still make the hair dark, and it will only sit on the outside, and will be washed off in a shampoo or two.

Sorry, there is no other way than to bleach first and then apply the stains. This has to be done in two applications. There is no one-step bleach and stain.
